Subscriptions Overview

Subscriptions provide a membership service, allowing you to create recurring payment plans that automatically renew passes for your customers.

Overview

Subscriptions provide a membership-style service for your business. You create subscription plans that customers can sign up to, and Reservie automatically handles recurring payments and pass renewals.

When a customer subscribes to a plan, they sign a mandate — an agreement authorising future charges to their payment card. Each time the subscription renews, an invoice is generated and the customer’s card is charged automatically.

Subscriptions are managed from Subscriptions in the sidebar menu, which has two sections: Plans and Mandates.

Key concepts

ConceptDescription
PlanA subscription plan defines the pricing, associated pass, and cancellation terms. Created by you.
MandateA signed agreement between you and the customer authorising recurring payments. Created by the customer.
InvoiceGenerated each time a subscription is due for renewal. Tracks payment status.
PassThe service delivered to the customer on each renewal. A plan is always associated with a pass.

How subscriptions work

  1. You create a plan — Define the name, associated pass, pricing, and cancellation terms.
  2. Customer signs a mandate — Through your schedule or booking portal, the customer subscribes to the plan and provides payment details.
  3. Invoices are generated — Typically 48 hours before a payment is due, an invoice is created.
  4. Payment is processed — On the due date, the customer’s card is charged automatically.
  5. Pass is renewed — On successful payment, the associated pass is automatically assigned to the customer.

Mandate lifecycle

When a customer signs a mandate, it enters an automatic lifecycle:

  • Active — The mandate is running and invoices will be generated on schedule.
  • Paused — Payments are temporarily stopped. Can be resumed.
  • Suspended — A payment has failed and needs resolution.
  • Cancelled — The mandate has been permanently stopped.
